Making Our Passions Our Life!

We only get one life, one try, and one take at this existence. Back in 2018, Missy and I looked at our busy corporate lives and decided to take the path less followed. We knew that twenty years from now, we'd be more disappointed by the things we didn’t do than by the things we did.

So, we made a choice. We traded in unneeded luxuries for a life of true adventure and discovery. We sold our house and most of our belongings, built our Sprinter campervan, "Eddie Van-dder," and started traveling across North America. The freedom of the road was so exhilarating that in 2019, we took it a step further and spent months thru-hiking the entire 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail. It was an epic journey that completely changed how we look at the world.

By the time we got off the trail, we knew there was no going back to the old way of living. We created Traveling Outside The Baatz to share our journey, which naturally evolved into TOTB Outdoors. We wanted to take our passion for the backcountry and craftsmanship to create handcrafted gear that helps others get outside and experience it for themselves.

But the outdoors has given us so much, and we knew we had a responsibility to give back to it. That’s why we launched 803 Outpost Coffee. It’s more than just a roast-to-order specialty coffee company; it’s a mission-driven tribute to the wild places that inspire us. Every time you grab a bag of our Backcountry Espresso or Switchback Blend, it directly funds reforestation and environmental efforts. It’s our way of ensuring we help restore and protect the landscapes we love so much.

Whether you're gearing up with our handmade products, riding along with us on our YouTube channel, or fueling your next trip with a fresh brew, we're incredibly grateful you're here.

Live your adventure!
